Position: Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A Analyst)

Location: Kettering

About the role

NAHL is a fast-moving Group, which requires high calibre personnel who can cope with the challenges that this environment brings. Recent announcements regarding potential regulatory change is the most recent challenge that the company faces, a challenge we have prospered through before as a result of LASPO changes.

Following several changes in structure within the company and the increasing importance of a robust and high performing finance function, the position of Financial Planning Analyst has opened.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Planning Analyst there are several core tasks within the role but also potential for one off project pieces of work dependent on the business needs. The candidate would be expected to develop an understanding of all areas of the business and quickly add value.

For guidance purposes examples of types of work likely to be undertaken are as follows:

- Managing production of the monthly board pack, helping to review and articulate the financials, KPI's and key business messages and ensure accuracy of business information.

- Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust, regular reporting.

- Flash P&L and cash-flow reporting as required in the month (generally weekly)

- Financial modelling for profit share arrangements with JV partners and other relationships

- Analysing new product opportunities

- Assisting marketing in forecasting the delivery of media laydown to deliver the required enquiries and analysing the performance of marketing activity

- Supporting in the delivery of accurate and useful BI to all areas of the business

- Acting as the key support to the financial controller with the desire for career progression

There may also be opportunities to undertake other projects including: helping commercial assess and deliver new deals, assisting group in acquisitions, new marketing proposals.

About you

In view of the nature of the role personal attributes are very important. The person should be:

- A high performing qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

- Industry, in particular financial modelling experience is very important

- Excellent excel skills and an appreciation of how business reporting systems work

- Strong analytical abilities

Although the above is important, they will not be an inhibitor for the right person who can demonstrate the ability to perform the core tasks and clearly has the required personal qualities.
