MENDIP COMMUNITY TRANSPORT
is looking for a
Part Time Chief Executive Officer
Salary: - £24-£26000 + (30 days Holidays - Pro Rata + Bank Holidays)
Location: - Waterlip, Near Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Permanent Position (21 Hours per week)
Mendip Community Transport (MCT) is a not for profit Company. We provide a variety of transport services to groups and individuals whose needs are not met by conventional transport. Many of our clients have major challenges to mobility, communication and access to other modes of transport.
MCT covers large part of Somerset and has been operating since 2002. It has a fleet of 30 minibuses, as well as some 80 volunteer drivers who undertake hospital transport.
We are now seeking an individual who will possess strong leadership and people skills, an entrepreneurial spirit to seize opportunities, and the ability to define and work towards a challenging but exciting vision. This will need to be matched with a clear ability to work within strong financial controls.
The CEO will be the bridge between the Board of Trustees, staff and volunteers. He or she will also need to be fully involved in day to day operations.
In order to deliver the services expected, the CEO will need to operate regularly with several key stakeholders, including:
- Local authorities, both administrative and political.
- Service users, including special schools, community groups, and a wide range of other organisations, groups and individuals.
- The MCT management and administration team.
- Vehicle drivers, passenger carers and Volunteer Hospital Car service drivers.
In addition, the CEO will need to have full awareness of legal and regulatory requirements needed to be a charity, an employer and a vehicle operator.
Experience of operating a similar organisation will be an advantage, but not a necessity.
