Role: Procurement Manager

Salary: 60,000 - 65,000 per annum

Type: Permanent

Location: Near Oxford

My client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of motor technologies across automotive, industrial and energy industries. They are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their dynamic team based near Oxford as they continue to lead innovation within their industry and expand as a company.

The Procurement Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

* 6 yrs+ experience managing a full supply chain or purchasing function
* Track record of successful supplier negotiation and contract agreement with automotive suppliers
* Demonstrated strategic sourcing initiatives and worked through to secure production supply
* Demonstrated lead in logistics, consignment stock and scheduling for volume supply
* Experience with a range of stock management processes and software packages
* Experience of Automotive supply chain management, risk identification and action planning
* Ability to quickly assimilate technical proposals and issues as required for the role
* Ideally degree level qualified plus CIPS Diploma or equivalent
* Flexible in your approach to work, desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present to Director level

The Procurement Manager role will involve:

* Management of suppliers to meet needs for current and future production volumes
* Full contract negotiation and agreements to ensure security of production
* Run strategic sourcing reviews and bid process for automotive supply chain
* Review and interrogate open book quotations and ensure supply base are competitive in the market
* Identify cost down activities and supplier resourcing plans in line with production growth
* Development of internal processes to support the needs of the business, e.g. Kaizen, Lean, etc
* Reporting of supplier performance, metrics and risks
* Utilising MS Nav/Dynamics to map sales requirements to stock and supplier commitments
* Manage financial BOM and cost tracking, identifying cost deltas and drivers
* Identify underperforming suppliers (quality or delivery) and work with Quality function to drive corrective action plans through to completion
* Liaise with engineering to develop volume cost estimates for new products
