The Company

We are information and cyber security consultancy based in Hertfordshire and London, UK. We deliver advice to clients on a range of technical security and privacy matters and we also manage the end-to-end IT requirements for several clients, securely.

You might say that we’re not a standard security or IT managed service company. Our clients range from celebrities to multinational corporations to law firms and we pride ourselves on being trusted and long term advisors to an ever-growing client list. The team currently consists of security consultants and IT support engineers with a range of backgrounds and specialist skills.

The IT Support Engineer Role:

This position will evolve as the business grows but for now it’s primarily an IT support position where the successful candidate will spend most of their time servicing a growing number of clients on all matters of IT support and cyber security. It will be based at the firm’s offices in Welwyn Garden City and involve travel to client sites (mostly in London) a couple of times each week. In addition to managing routine requests, the successful candidate will be expected to manage and support projects, for example:

+ Plan and manage a migration from a hosted-exchange server to Office 365
+ Switching several users from domain-joined windows computers to OSX/Mac environment
+ Deploying mobile device management across each user in the office
+ Train users to add two-factor authentication onto their personal Gmail and Facebook accounts

In addition to routine IT support and project work, there will be the opportunity to get involved with cyber security consultancy. This may include supporting security audits, monitoring client systems for data breaches, post-incident investigation, open-source intelligence collection and ethical hacking though experience in this field is not a pre-requisite.

About You:

We are looking for a confident, articulate and ambitious IT support consultant with around 3-10 years experience in the field post university/college and the ability to dedicate themselves to this role without significant distractions.

You will almost certainly have worked for a multi-client IT support company and you will probably be frustrated by how they have treated their clients and reacted to their changing requirements.

Interpersonal skills rank above IT support experience and aptitude for this role and you will be able to confidently engage quickly with a range of personality types without overstepping the mark and being too gregarious.

You will want to go the extra mile for your clients in terms of security and customer service. You will be happy to work outside of core hours and occasionally at weekends. You will also be keen to get involved in security projects under the mentorship of an experienced security
consultant.

+ Windows desktop support
+ MS Office 365 administration
+ Microsoft Server administration – all versions
+ Virtualisation in various flavours
+ Networking
+ Exposure to OSX and the Apple world
+ Mobile Device Management
+ Firewall configuration

Ideally you may also have some Linux experience and have any exposure to Kali Linux and the tools therein.

Package:

The first 12 months will be basic salary focused (during an initial probation period) depending on previous experience. After a successful 12 months, there is every opportunity to enhance your basic salary and bonuses.
