Position: Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager.

Package: GBP50k - GBP70k, Pension (5% total), 28 days holiday.

Location: Portsmouth.

We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer & Business Development Manager to join this fantastic and ever growing company. This is an exciting environment to work in and there is plenty of scope for career development. Your roots will ideally be in machining and you will have progressed into estimating & business development. This is a key role within this business where you will have the opportunity to work alongside the MD and make your mark!

You will have a technical background, must be able to read and understand drawings and be able to estimate / quote working to fast turn-around times. You will not necessarily be office based all of the time.

Duties:

- Working from detailed engineering drawings, estimating large machining contracts & quoting for smaller precision engineering works within F1, automotive & aerospace industries.
- Overseeing your own orders, progressing these & liaising with the shop floor.
- Project managing your own projects that you bring into the business.
- Working closely with the MD in looking after prestigious existing clients.
- Working to targets set by the MD to enhance company turn over.
- Working to short lead times.
- The role will be office based with travel to clients around the country as necessary.

Requirements:

- MUST be able to demonstrate quoting / estimating within a precision engineering environment.
- Have a good understanding of the market. Target markets are automotive & aerospace but knowledge of motorsport would be an advantage.
- Successful proven sales track record
- Must be a confident, self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good presentation skills.
- Strong commercial business acumen.
- A machining background would be advantageous.
