Principal Teachers are currently seeking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher to commence a full time position in a Harrogate secondary school. The Head Teacher has approached PT to recruit a creative and driven teacher on their behalf. The successful applicant will be required to deliver an enriching curriculum to Years 8 to 10. Due to the structure within the school, the Head Teacher is seeking a teacher with a specialism in any discipline: Resistant Materials, Textiles, Graphic Design. The position is available to start as soon as possible on an ongoing basis.
The school, based within Harrogate, is well regarded within the local community and is known for its high standards of behaviour. The successful applicant will gain full access to a wealth of resources and learning tools. You will be required to deliver a robust curriculum to motivate and support all learners to achieve and drive results forward in KS 3 and 4. The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate their attention to detail and ability to plan and assess meticulously to inform target setting and cater to the needs of students with a range of abilities. The school serves a diverse catchment area and you will be required to fully embrace the ethos of the school. It is essential that you possess strong behaviour management skills and have high expectations for all students to uphold standards.
The successful applicant will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
Previous experience of teaching in the UK
Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for DT
Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
A commitment to improving attainment for all students
A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
