Job Description:

The principal function of this position is work on CH2M's Water and Environmental Management (WEM) framework with the Environment Agency, specifically in the South West of England, but with scope to be involved in projects nationwide. The WEM framework delivers a range of projects including, flood risk management, river and coastal engineering, river restoration, and habitat creation. The Exeter office has staff involved in a strong portfolio of work locally, helping the Environment Agency deliver projects from inception through appraisal to construction. We are looking for enthusiastic, client focused people to join an integrated and energised team with the Environment Agency and our supply partners. If you would like to work in a forward thinking collaborative environment with a diverse range of professionals where your ideas, innovation and individuality are nurtured then this is the ideal next step in your career. * Assist with the management, coordination and production of business cases for schemes from initial assessment through to the completion of the 5 business case model. * Manage and undertake outline and detailed design of flood risk management, river engineering and river restoration works. * Prepare tender documents. * Assist or lead with client engagement and stakeholder consultation on projects. * Develop innovative solutions that deliver the client's brief. * Adopt a proactive approach to innovation, sustainability and delivering cost effective solutions. * Undertake supervision of construction works . The minimum qualifications for this position are: The ideal candidate should: * Have as a minimum a BEng in a relevant subject * Be working towards professional accreditation with the Institution of Civil Engineers and chartered engineer status with Engineering Council * Have knowledge of the UK flood risk management industry * Have technical knowledge of engineering design, project appraisal and project management. * Be client focused to help build long term relationships * Have a proactive and collaborative approach to work * Be able to work independently and as part of a team * Be able to plan, organise and manage * Have excellent written and oral communication skills * Be flexible, adaptable and responsive to change * Be a motivated and enthused member of the team * Have proven ability of coordination and delivery to deadline and evidence of problem resolution in the process * Have experience of producing accurate technical outputs Our Culture: Safety & health conscious, flexible working conditions, collaborative & friendly with regular social activities.
