Job Title: Packing Operative - Manufacturing
Location: Biggleswade
Salary: GBP7.50 per hour
We are currently recruiting for packing operatives to join a well known food manufacturing company for their site in Biggleswade.
You will be working with a team that would be responsible for the set up and effective running of end of line packing machinery. You would need to be able to complete minor fault finding whilst running the line. Also the ability to maintain good accurate stock contract on all materials used.
This is a shift based role and we are looking to fill the following vacancies
Monday - Friday - 14:00-22:00 and 06:00 - 14:00
There is a large amount of flexibility with these shifts and you are able to stick to one shift or do a mixture of both.
As this is a fast paced, Machinery based environment you will be encouraged to always be thinking of Safety and how improvements could be made to maximise the outputs of any lines, to actively engage in supporting others within the team and to take accountability for the lines efficiency. You will need to be able to make good decisions about how and when additional support is required to ensure the line is kept running.
Key accountabilities:
* Be aware of Safe Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Working whilst operating machinery and equipment, provide a safe working environment for self and others.
* Assist with the handling and packing of product by operating specified machinery
* Maintain excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness necessary in a food production environment
* Maintain excellent standards of product and packaging quality whilst at the same time ensuring that waste is kept to a minimum
* College, record or Internet information for effective role delivery and continuous improvement
* Proactively engage in training, proactively seek training and support to develop and improve skills levels
* Consistently follow Company behaviours
* Previous experience within a food production environment is preferable but not essential.
Experience with the following would be beneficial:
Warehouse operative, Packing Operative, Picker, Packer, Production,Food Production, Manufacturing, Production machinery, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Food, FMCG.
