Quality Manager- About the opportunity
The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join an established manufacturing company based in Horsham. My client has a great reputation and is experiencing continued growth. The ideal candidate will have Quality Management experience within a large manufacturing company and be lead audit Qualified to (ISO 9001 or TS16949)

Purpose of Role - Quality Manager
The purpose of this role is to drive the development and deployment of a company wide quality management system. To ensure compliance to product and process specifications, including customer specific requirements. Champion and audit business process excellence across the Company. Continual improvement of quality performance and efficiency across supply base, manufacturing, test and all associated business activities.
Responsibilities

-Effectively interact with all functions across the company to ensure business objectives are met.
-Ensure key business processes are in place; eg non-conformance management, QCAR system, concessions and product traceability.
-Create quality documentation to develop and deploy an effective Quality Management System.
-Implementation and maintenance of controlled document management system.
-Manage and maintain the relevant business processes for all components and finished goods.
-Verify performance of suppliers and project teams through audits, working with them if improvements are needed to achieve the desired performance.
-Assist with the implementation of a supplier development programme to continuously improve quality of product and services provided.
-Champion for visual factory regarding Quality working closely with the Production VM Champion.

Candidate requirements - Quality Manager
The ideal candidate will come from a high-volume manufacturing environment as a Quality Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications & experience:

-Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
-Considerable experience and track record in a Quality Function with strong understanding of engineering and business processes including a wide range of quality system tools and techniques.
-Experience working in high technology volume manufacturing environment.
-Experienced with a wide range of measuring and inspection equipment and can interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Ideally managing a Quality laboratory and associated metrology facilities.
-Direct responsibility for managing at least one implementation project of quality systems to ISO 9001 or TS16949 certification. Detailed knowledge of these quality systems.
-Implemented materials & component traceability through the supply chain.
-Quality function leadership demonstrating management and development of quality staff.
-Strong statistical knowledge with advanced use of statistical software such a Minitab. Familiar with SPC as production tool.
-Document authoring skills in an engineering/technical environment.

Desirable:

-Hands-on and pragmatic with ability to cope with the uncertainties and complexities of a rapidly-growing high-technology company.
-Able to create fit-for-purpose and scalable business processes suitable for a growing business.
-Strong interpersonal and influencing skills involving all business functions.
-Has an interest in the development and exploitation of new technologies and has possibly worked implementing quality rigour in a rapidly growing company.
-Knowledge of 6 Sigma methodologies.
-Experience of ceramics powders or controlling chemicals in an engineered materials environment.
-Qualified Lead Auditor to ISO9001 or TS16949.
-Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), process mapping software and databases.
