An opportunity has arisen to join the busy Finance team within University Biomedical Services. This will be a key position, reporting directly to the Operations Director. The successful candidate will head up a small accounts team, managing the accounts payable and receivables processes, responding to senior researcher queries and providing financial management information to senior staff that is critical to the successful running of a complex Department.
They shall take ownership of local finance policies and procedures and support their implementation across the Departments 12 sites and the Creation of the Trial Balance on an accruals/prepayments basis including month and year end postings to the general ledger.
The post holder will need to be flexible and prepared to be involved at all levels, from presenting analysis of our operations to the Directorship to reconciling control accounts and processing invoices for payment. The ability to work to deadlines is an important element of the role.
The post holder will hold a qualification in accounting, or equivalent level of
experience. They will be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting and have experience in a senior finance management role in a similar environment. Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check.
