My client is a recognised market leader in the design and manufacture of connectors and electrical harness systems used in harsh environments for the Rail and Defense industries.
An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join my client within the Programme Management department. Your primary responsibility will be to manage new projects from initial proposal stage through to serial production, ensuring that project deliverables are achieved and are in line with customers', internal business and regulatory requirements.
The Role
• During the introduction of new products, comply with customer requests / market requirements whilst ensuring best cost effectiveness to the company.
• Obtain quotations, as required, whilst ensuring compliance with company quality procedures.
• Develop timing plans and review the status of projects against these plans.
• For customer driven projects, establish and maintain regular communication with the appropriate customer contact.
• Manage the production of samples/prototypes in line with the project timing plan.
• Raise orders, as required, for material, tooling and equipment such that programme needs dates can be met.
• Document actions and minute meetings.
• Identify any process improvement opportunities.
• Support Product Management with price list construction and implementation.
• Ensure that project reviews are conducted regularly and report to the Senior Programme Manager for weekly NPD reports.
• Maintaining records of all projects using Daptiv/ Microsoft Project.
The Candidate
You will need to be methodical and structured in your approach and used to dealing with projects and their complexities. You will be required to liaise with all internal stakeholders of the project team as well as external suppliers and customers therefore communication is critical.
