As part of my client ongoing strategy for growth, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Operations Manager to join their senior management team. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Operations Manager will have day to day responsibility for managing the Supply Chain, Production, Warehousing, Health and Safety, and Quality functions.
The role will involve mentoring and developing the existing team to deliver an operations strategy focussed upon continuous improvement, high quality, on time deliveries and short lead times, with an increasing focus upon lean manufacturing methods, waste reduction and employee engagement. As such, the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a track record of working effectively with people to create a sustainable continuous improvement culture that can deliver against agreed targets for QCD.

To be considered for this Operations Manager position you must have or be:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Manufacturing/Operations Manager or Continuous Improvement specialist within a modern production environment.
• A thorough understanding of modern manufacturing and lean techniques such JIT, 5S, Kanban, Visual Management, and work flow together with problem solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why root cause analysis, A3 thinking or DMAIC.
• A strong manufacturing background ideally degree qualified with experience of using ERP/MRP systems.
• A real passion for Continuous Improvement, establishing performance standards and simple but effective KPIs.
• An ability to coach, train and educate employees in modern manufacturing techniques at all levels across the organisation.
• Experience of capacity planning, employee training, recruitment, appraisals, and absence management.
• Dynamic, data-driven, numerate, adaptable and prepared to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation, able to create understanding and a desire to change in the people you work with at all levels
