My client, a leading specialist engineering organisation, is looking for a HR Manager to join their site in Bristol, forming part of a wider HR function across the UK and European offices of the business. This will be a varied, generalist role with an emphasis on developing and implementing HR strategies across the business (at site level, UK wide and internationally), while also managing the day-to-day operational activity of this site.

Working as part of an international HR team, you will support the business by providing both general HR guidance and also refining and delivering strategic business objectives during a significant period of change and transformation for the organisation. This will involve partnering with the senior leadership team, challenging current practices where necessary and building strong internal relationships with key stakeholders. There is an emphasis on continuous improvement within the organisation, identifying opportunities for development, coaching managers to take ownership of their employee relations matters, and ensuring the HR department is viewed as a proactive, credible function within the business.

As well as managing the operational HR matters on site with the support of a small team, you will also contribute to a number of wider projects on a national and international basis, for example around diversity, resourcing strategies, social media usage from a HR / recruitment perspective, learning and development, engagement etc.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR Manager or HR Business Partner, comfortable in managing all day to day HR matters autonomously but also able to collaborate with other members of the HR team to deliver projects, within an international setting. You will ideally have the CIPD qualification, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders within the organisation, acting as a credible business partner to the senior leadership team. Previous experience within a technical / engineering environment would be preferred although not essential. Due to the international elements of the role, language skills in French, German or Italian would be highly beneficial although not essential, but you will ideally have a strong track record in an international organisation.
