As a wind project director you will lead wind projects such as this.
Job description
We provide varied services including due diligence studies (technical, contractual and financial) construction and operation monitoring, contractual reviews, energy yield analysis, feasibility studies, market and strategic advice, regulatory development, analysis and review and technology assessments.
You have access to our connected network of 16,000 people who include geotechnical specialists, offshore structures expertise and much more. We have energy regulation advisors, energy economists and financial analysts. Energy environmental experts in impact assessment, permitting, ecology, social, air and noise. All of this in addition to our large wind team based in offices across Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.
Our mission is to always connect globally, seek and open opportunities for clients and continue supporting the amazing growth of the wind sector globally. You will hold responsibility, as the wind project director, for ensuring projects are managed safely, correctly and corrective actions to safeguard against risks are taken. You will approve final terms of appointment, confirm that project risks have been assessed and approve any sub consultancy and joint venture agreements. The opening budget and variances will be for your approval as well as the project plan of work and project control systems. In coordination with your colleagues - the project manager, the business account leader and the project team, you will manage client relationships and ensure our clients receive the highest standard of delivery.
This role can be based in Brighton or Glasgow. Our Glasgow office is situated in the heart of the city, minutes from Central Station. We have 350 people and many sports and social activities where we can come together and have some well-earned fun! Our Brighton office has around 300 people. We're by the sea and there is a huge amount to do here. We have a range of sports clubs and many socials. As with Glasgow, a happy office and a vibrant atmosphere!
Candidate specification
We take project direction very seriously and there is a lot of responsibility with the role. There is also a lot of support and robust, user friendly, systems to ensure we're always working safely, to best practise and are also driving forward innovation, sustainability and well connected thinking across all of our disciplines to provide the most appropriate expertise to our clients. Your approach to project direction needs to match this standard and we really want to hear from you if you have had this kind of experience on wind projects. Experience of working within a consultancy is of course ideal but not necessarily essential if you have a strong wind energy background and have experience of managing or directing large wind energy advisory, owner's or design projects. As described at the beginning, our work is international and so short term travel to projects and to see clients is sometimes required.
