Brewster Pratap are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger clerk in Boroughbridge for a leading organisation. Working as part of a friendly team you will have full responsibility and autonomy for your area of purchase ledger and work as part of a wider finance team. This role offers a competitive salary of circa GBP20,000 + a comprehensive benefits package. The company is ideally situated for people living in Ripon, North Leeds, Harrogate and Thirsk. Previous experience of working in a accountancy/ finance roles, ideally purchase ledger is essential.
The Job:
Overall responsibilities will include:
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
- Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
- Manage the payment run as and when required.
- Send remittance advices to suppliers
- Prepare manual cheques as and when required.
- Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers.
- Maintain a filing system for all financial documents.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files.
- Processing supplier invoices.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Query resolution - logging all queries and resolving within a timely manner.
- Liaising with suppliers on a daily basis.
- Processing employee's credit card expenses and fuel cards.
- Producing payment forecasts when required.
- Ensuring a high degree of accuracy in record keeping & filing of invoices.
- Produce monthly CIS reports for submission to HMR
The Person:
- Purchase Ledger experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word
- Attention to detail and strong numeracy skills
- Team player - "hands on, sleeves up" approach
