Trainee Science Teacher Specification

We are looking for passionate graduates who have gone above and beyond to secure classroom experience and/or have previous experience of working with children. You must hold a UK degree in either Physics, Chemistry or Biology, with a classification of at least a 2:2 or above with GCSE English, Maths and Science at grade C. The school are looking for graduates with the drive and determination to become Outstanding classroom practitioners and who can hit the ground running from day one. We want to see demonstrable commitment to teaching within applicants and the drive to work hard to achieve professional and personal goals.

About the Trainee Science Teacher Role

As a Trainee Science Teacher, you will gain first-class training in a multi-disciplinary science department. You will be immersed in a school setting from day one, where you will get first-hand experience of lesson planning, delivering lessons to the whole class and on a 1:1 basis as well as to small groups of learners. Working alongside an accomplished teacher, you will be provided with invaluable training and guidance, in addition to the academic training provided by The University of Buckingham. This school centred training will enable you to gain Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) at the end of the 2-year training programme.
