Our client is recruiting on behalf of a fresh-thinking IT business based in Thatcham. They’re now looking for an IT Field Engineer to join their friendly team.
Once you join the business, you’ll discover that no two days are the same. You’ll support a diverse range of organisations, including those from the charity, education and manufacturing sectors, and will have plenty of opportunities to enhance your existing technical expertise.
As an IT Field Engineer, you’ll provide a high level of technical support to customers.
In this rewarding role, you’ll support a combination of managed, hosted and business IT services, as well as professional hardware and software solutions.
You’ll spend most of your time working on-site at customer locations, primarily throughout Berkshire, but you’ll also cover sites throughout London, Essex and the North West.
Additionally, you will:
- Ensure that the Service Desk meets its SLA requirements
- Log new support calls
- Provide on-site and remote migration, installation and configuration assistance
- Make technical recommendations to customers
- Update the support system with information and timesheet details

- Windows Server 2008 and 2012
- Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2013 and Exchange Online (365)
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and VPN
- Windows 7, 8 and 10
- Mac OSx
- Microsoft Office 2010, 2013 and 2016
- Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 and 2011
- Mobile devices, including iOS and Android
- Firewall configuration and management
The ideal IT Field Engineer will have some experience of the administration of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V and back-up software, but this is not essential.
