Hygiene Team Member
Reports to:
Hygiene Leader/Manager
Main Contacts:
Bigham’s production and support teams
External partners including Suppliers & Customers
Job Purpose:
To maintain and enhance hygiene standards across Bigham’s on a day-to-day basis through effective cleaning of all areas, equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities:
- EH&S of yourself and others
- Food Safety & Quality – delivering the Bigham’s standard
- Adhering to Cleaning Instruction Cards
- Maintain GMP standards
- Working with the team to resolve any issues as they arise using lean technique’s (for example RCA)
Key Aspects of Job
- All activities comply to GMP and 5S standards
- In the event of any issues, make sure they are contained and escalated to the Hygiene Team Leader
- Ensure H&S standards are maintained including the correct use of protective equipment
- Any hazards or near misses are identified, raised and resolved with the team or Hygiene Team Leader
- Highlight, communicate and resolve any daily issues with the relevant people
- Actively engage in team discussions and meetings, contributing to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Through effective teamwork, ensure that Bigham’s is kept clean and tidy – through production, all external areas, offices, toilets and café.
- Replenish clean uniforms throughout the production shift and organize the transfer of dirty laundry
- Maintain stocks of PPE and disposables and ensure availability to all departments throughout the production shift
- Work safely within the COSHH guidelines and follow the appropriate training
- Ensure that all equipment in the tray wash area is washed to the correct standards in a timely manner
- Ensure the transfer of waste from the production kitchen and other collection points within Bigham’s, ensuring waste segregation and correct recycling procedures are followed
- Maintain GMP standards
- Be multi-skilled and able to work in multiple areas
