Tate St Ives encourages a greater understanding and enjoyment of modern and contemporary art in the unique cultural context of St Ives and also manages the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Following a major project the extended Tate St Ives reopened on 31 March 2017 and this autumn we will open our new gallery space, dedicated Learning area and new displays.
As you can imagine, it's a particularly busy time so we are looking to expand and strengthen our team of casual Art Handling Technicians. Working closely with artists, curators and conservators, the team undertakes art handling and preparation for changeovers of exhibitions displays.
We'll need you to hit the ground running so experience of handling art works in a gallery or museum setting as well as practical or technical skills are vital. A pragmatic approach to problem solving, experience of working to tight deadlines and ability to work effectively as part of a team and also unsupervised on delegated projects are all essential.
