Hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes towards the shut down between Christmas and New Year)
We are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join our growing ICT team, who is looking for both a challenge and to gain experience in a busy ICT environment.
You will work in various locations across the town with a supportive team of other Engineers and Analysts with the aim to deliver exceptional results in a responsive and professional manner.
Within this role you will be responsible for interpreting, diagnosing and resolving faults and managing all tickets on a leading ticketing system, from initial contact to resolution. You will support the Service Desk team in resolving faults that cannot be closed at first contact. You will also assist the Infrastructure team in 2nd/3rd line duties where appropriate.
You will have the opportunity to obtain accredited qualifications and complete courses relevant to your day to day work; also you will play an important role in migrations, installations and rollouts of new technologies and systems.
This is an exciting time to join ICT, as we are in the early stages of identifying resilient and scalable solutions to replace a high proportion of our infrastructure and systems whilst delivering both financial and efficiency savings within the authority.
A driving licence and access to a car or other satisfactory means of transport is required.
