Holiday Camp Activity Leader - Oxford High Holiday Camp, Oxford
Background
Oxford Active runs children's holiday camps in every school holiday at school sites throughout Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire for children aged 3 - 14 years.
We need experienced, reliable and enthusiastic staff to join our team of activity leaders to run fun, exciting activities, and keep children safe in a stimulating and caring environment.
Hours: 8am to 6pm with a break for lunch
Summary of Job Duties
Work as part of a team to provide safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities and sports activities for children aged 3 - 14
Help to ensure the safe arrival of children at the camp and the safe delivery to parents or carers at end of day
Ensure that children are kept safe by following the camp's policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, risk assessment and other health and safety issues
With other staff, be responsible for keeping premises clean and tidy
With other staff, be responsible for the safe keeping of play and sports equipment
Person Specification
Experience of working with children in a play or sports environment
Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
Enthusiasm and a positive attitude to work is essential
Ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
An appropriate qualification (eg Playwork, Childcare or Sports Leadership) at Level 2 is desirable but not essential
Must be prepared to attend regular in-house training as well as First Aid, Safeguarding and other relevant courses as necessary.
All staff have to pass strict safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure
