FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER – Maternity cover

SALARY: 17,222 - £23,427 per annum

GRADE: P18B

HOURS: 37 hours per week
 

The Integrated Family Support Services (IFSS) is delivered jointly in partnership between Newport Children’s Services and Barnardo’s. The aim of the IFSS is to provide multi-agency, evidence based interventions that integrate seamlessly for children, young people and their families.  The Institute of Public Care (IPC) in their evaluation of the IFSS April 2016 described the Family Support Services as “one of the most impressive overall models to be evaluated by the IPC to date”.

The Family Support Team is seeking to recruit one Family Support Worker who will specialise in working with children and families.  To undertake this role you will need to have direct experience of undertaking family support work with children and parents.  You will be required to provide holistic support to families around routines and boundaries, behaviour management, CSE, domestic abuse and parenting by building on families’ strengths and working with achievable goals.   Please ensure you evidence your ability to undertake these skills within your application form.

You will be based at Old Brynglas Hostel, Newport working with families across Newport. You will need to have willingness to work flexibly including, evenings weekends and public holidays.

Fixed Term to cover Maternity Leave initially until 31^st March 2018 with the possibility of this being extended to 19^th August 2018 subject to continued funding
