Sales Account Manager, St Helens, Merseyside / Lancashire Food Manufacturing
Working for a leading food manufacturer, the ideal candidate will have strong experience in new business development and account management. A food background would be of great relevance and previous experience working with NPD teams to develop accounts and secure new business.
The job
As Sales Account Manager, you will manage existing clients to maximise the portfolio of product sales and well as developing new business through relationship building in order to deliver profitable growth year on year. Working alongside the Sales Director, you will develop and deliver a well thought through sales and contact strategy, be pro-active in prospecting and client networking, delivery of presentations and actively support and promote company marketing and sales initiatives.
Your experience
You will possess a strong sales background in a customer facing role together with strong experience dealing with the larger retailers.
You should be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of achievement within a food related account management role and in addition you'll have a can-do attitude, the ability to work to tight deadlines and to form strong relationships plus show an undeniable passion for food and the industry. A full valid driving licence is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for a portfolio of accounts ensuring that company profitability, customer requirements and individual growth targets are met.
- Monitor, report & forecast on account performance against sales budget and cash margin in order to maximize future performance.
- Develop, implement and maintain individual customer account plans which identify key activities and priorities in line with company strategic objectives, and thereby maximize profitability.
- Maintain regular communication with key external contacts to identify and resolve issues whilst selling new initiatives within existing customer base.
- Identify, understand and communicate both the customer needs and development aspiration.
Salary: circa £28,000 (which is negotiable) depending on individual skills and experience.
