Our client is an established world class health and safety consultancy who is looking for new Health and Safety Consultant to join their team, delivering health and safety on construction projects across the UK and Europe for some of the biggest global brands.
The most important characteristic about our client's team is that they have a passion for keeping people safe and being part of successful projects.
Health & Safety Consultant - Duties and responsibilities:
• Manage part of the current client database
• Develop business with existing clients and seek new business opportunities
• Work with clients who come from multiple industry sectors
• Deal with a range of persons from client companies up to and including senior directors
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
• Say what you'll do and do what you say
• Ensure that Clients needs are met in a professional and proactive manner
• Work closely with Operations Director and Managing Director
• Maintain client contact and communication for the duration of the project and / or contract
• Support other team members as required with knowledge and expertise
• Build and maintain excellent client relationships by always going the extra mile
Qualifications / Training:
• GCSE's Grade A-C In English, Maths and Science
• NEBOSH General certificate
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)
• Excellent working knowledge of HASAWA 1974
• Sound understanding of health and safety across multiple industries
• Sound understanding of OHSAS and ISO standards
• Auditing experience and or qualification desirable
• Training experience and or qualification desirable
Further requirements:
• Previous success in a health and safety manager role
• Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft office
• Highly organised individual who is able to manage their own time and take direction
• Communicates clearly across all platforms, is engaging and can speak to anyone at all levels
• Thrives in a fast-paced demanding environment and enjoys resolving conflict
• Loves taking on difficult challenges and problem solving
• Patient, level-headed and cool under pressure. Don't get flustered easily
• Pays attention to all the details and stays focused on tasks
• Able to react quickly and efficiently to changing demands and requirements
• Motivated and driven.
• Likes learning and can learn quickly
• Volunteers for new challenges and helps the team without being asked
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced members of the team
