Permanent – 37.5 hours per week (includes day release at college)

£13,278.40 per annum + bonus, company pension, child care voucher scheme, life assurance

Our client manufactures and dispatches over 2,500 products a day to hospitals throughout the UK, making a difference to thousands of patients’ lives, some of which are living with cancer, chronic illnesses, and extreme pain. 

The company is excited to be able to offer 4 apprenticeships starting in September 2017 for 24 to 30 months in partnership with Wiltshire College. The Science Manufacturing Technician Apprentice will be working towards a Level 3 BTEC Certificate in Applied Science and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities.  You will join our client’s friendly, dynamic team in the expansion of their capacity and capability to deliver their products to hospitals and patients homes across the UK and beyond.  

The Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship is a superb opportunity to develop and progress your career in aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will get exposure to different departments across the business. You will get exposure to; Quality Assurance (regulatory compliance), Quality Control (exposure to laboratory work), manufacturing activities, batch manufacturing documentation creation, research, and development.  After the successful completion of your apprenticeship, and depending on performance, you could progress to supervisory level.

You will have a range of duties and responsibilities within the team to include:

  • To work as part of a team involved in the preparation of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals
  • To participate in activities concerned with any Aseptic Pharmaceutical activity within the unit, to include:
    • Product Inspecting finished products
    • Assisting with the assembly of ingredients
    • Checking ingredients that have been assembled ready for decontamination
    • Decontamination of ingredients and components entering the clean room
    • The labelling and packaging of finished products
  • Carries out processing/manufacturing activities safely, as required, on a daily basis
  • Proactively supports the production team to meet the manufacturing schedule
  • Conforms to all training requirements, including company required and manufacturing specific training
  • Ensures compliance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), policies and procedures as required by the company and regulatory agencies
  • Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Records (QRs), and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs),
    • Participates in the generation, completion, and review of such documentation, when required, to agreed timelines
    • Adheres to company and industry health and safety requirements, at all times
  • To undertake the daily cleaning and monitoring of the unit and equipment
  • To maintain personal hygiene in line with Good Manufacturing Practices GMP
  • To assist with the maintenance and control of stock and any components relating to   technical services work.
  • To ensure good communication between the team using a variety of methods.
  • Continue to develop your knowledge and skills and progress into manufacturing.

  • Needs to be methodical and organised
  • Able to work on your feet all day, dependent on business requirements

The successful candidates will need to have as a minimum; GCSE’s graded A to C to include Maths,

English and Science.  They should also have the capability and passion for continuing their

development through to higher qualifications.
