Job Overview

The Centre for Fine Print Research is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor to join our community of innovative thinkers, researchers and practitioners. Founded on our rich heritage and expertise in: inks and paper, 19th century photomechanical printing, colour, 2D - 3D printing, the Centre for Fine Print Research undertakes ground-breaking research at the interface between digital and analogue methods to create printed artefacts. We are looking for an ambitious multi-disciplinary Associate Professor who can take on the challenge of working across digital and analogue technologies, through the development of new, emerging and traditional materials.

We welcome submissions from researchers working in engineering, industry, science, or fabrication technologies, who are seeking to explore new opportunities in a different environment. This may include functional materials, polymers or metals, those who are working at the interface between software and hardware for colour and printing, for 2D, 2.5D and 3D printing.

With the support of senior staff the postholder will provide inspiration, leadership and strategic direction for the growth and reputational profile of the Centre for Fine Print Research's portfolio of research, knowledge exchange, post-graduate teaching, PhD supervision and scholarship through their developing contribution to our collective endeavours. As a core part of the Centre's leadership team, they will be contributing to the definition of research for the next generation of interdisciplinary researchers.

The post-holder must demonstrate evidence of the impact of their research in the last 5 years outside of academia, have very high quality REF ready outputs, have a track record of securing grants, and have evidence of being able to manage people, partners and budgets on funded projects.

A Doctoral degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience is an essential requirement.

You will be required to actively promote projects through symposia, workshops, lectures, publications and other external facing events.
