Finance Manager - Part Time

This company is a market leader in transporting children from home to school, and in supplying double-decker buses for hire. They provide a high-quality and reliable product and deliver high standards of customer service.

They are looking for a talented, flexible, and generally brilliant qualified (or part-qualified) accountant to lead the finance function in their small but very busy SME.

You will be responsible for leading their finance function, which includes the following tasks:
- Preparing financial information for external investors
- Supplying a timely and accurate flow of financial information to KPMG (who currently manage their book-keeping function in Xero)
- Compiling daily staffing, expenditure and income reports
- Maintaining daily pay records
- Managing credit control closely
- Managing procurement closely
- Creating and sending invoices
- Producing business plans, setting goals, and designing a framework to achieve them
- Setting up efficient accounting policies and procedures
- Verifying and circulating monthly management accounts
- Keeping their asset register up-to-date
- Running payroll monthly (Sage 50 Payroll) including pensions deductions
- Ensuring audit compliance and an efficient year-end
- Any other tasks necessary for the efficient running of the finance department

Salary: £30,000-£40,000 pro rata, depending on how much you impress us

Hours: 26 per week (0.65 FTE), the timing being flexible and negotiable

Location: Hockley, Birmingham (very close to Soho Benson Road Metro stop)

Essential:
- Experience with Xero and Sage Payroll
- Experience of leading a finance function in a busy SME
- Impressive attention to detail (do you know what an Oxford comma is?)
- A sense of humour

Desirable:
- Experience of producing information for external investors and third parties
- A fondness for coffee
