Prospero Teaching are now proudly recruiting on behalf of an excellent school in Patchway Bristol. We are looking for a School Caretaker who is hard-working and reliable with good attention to detail to cover long term sick leave.
The ideal applicant will be approachable, proactive, self motivated and polite (you will be the face of the school to parents, students and contractors). Ideally you will have previous experience working as a school caretaker or in a similar site maintenance position but the is not necessary as full training will be provided.
This School Caretaker role is a full time contract post starting ASAP
Working hours are: (30 Hours per week) 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday up to summer holidays with the possibility to work longer. There is the opportunity to work more hours in the afternoon and reduced hours in the morning if preferred.
Your role as a School Caretaker will include but is not limited to:
- Opening and closing of the school site
- General maintenance and repairs
- Providing directions to site visitors
- Decorating
- Setting up and clearing away equipment
- Portering
- Grounds maintenance
- Securing buildings
- Setting up for parent/teacher evenings and assemblies
The ideal school caretaker will be someone who:
- is confident to work without supervision
- has experience working within Health and Safety guidelines including appropriate technique for lifting etc.
- can learn quickly and is a problem solver
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of young people. The successful school caretaker will need to provide 2 years worth of reference (including a most recent employer) and a valid UK DBS.
A driving licence would be an advantage.
