Production manager for ambitious people focused chemical company in Bristol

THE ROLE

As Production / Operations Manager you will lead the Production, Environmental and Transport teams to fulfil customer orders and safely deliver a consistent quality of product. Setting high professional standards to sustain and protect site staff and brand reputation you will support the development of company's strategic plan. Based mainly on site with some travel to other sites / customers / suppliers. Responsibilities include:

• compliance with Safety and quality standards / legal requirements to protect staff and business reputation
• leading production team to ensure high levels of performance / monitoring KPIs
• managing transport and distribution team to ensure high levels of customer service
• working towards culture of continuous improvement for quality / efficiency / health and safety
• leading projects to support commercial requirements / managing costs / expenditure in line with budgets
• supporting business systems to develop technical capabilities / improve plant performance
• representing / promoting business at committees / local regional and international events

THE PERSON

As Production / Operations Manager you have a relevant qualification / experience in production / manufacturing / chemical related field. Your people management skills will be supported with Health & Safety experience and knowledge of continuous improvement techniques. You will also ideally have:

• knowledge of ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 / TPED
• an understanding and experience of COMAH / ATEX standards
• significant industrial safety experience (working at height / LOTOTO)
• understanding of chemical processing techniques (fractional distillation)
