The Group consists of 6 dynamic growing businesses with many years stability and expertise! They are one of the UK and Ireland's largest manufacturers in their specialist area and one of the fastest growing. With high quality production and customer service they specialize in making their products to suit individual design requirements and exact specifications. As part of this Group there are several roles live right now and this one is for a Technical Engineer. They are looking for confident graduates and experienced Engineers with strong communication skills and a civil engineering / structural degree. They have a superb reputation for customer service and high quality products.
This is ideally a July 2017 start date
The Role:
• Deliver quotes within set timescales to maintain company's customer service targets.
• Prepare load assessments and load calculations imposed on lintels using BS5977 'Methods of Assessment of Loads' based on the analysis of architects and structural engineers drawings.
• Specify standard off-the-shelf products, and also custom-made items designed specifically for relevant projects.
• Prepare lintel calculations at the customer's request to satisfy building control authority.
• Carry out an individual design service of any non-standard or bespoke steel lintels.
• Issue confirmation drawings for the customer's approval for special lintel orders received.
• Highlight opportunities for the supply of other products to the relevant department.
• Answer technical phone queries, whilst serving the customer with the highest level of technical and customer service.
• Periodic office and site visits to develop customer relationships and to measure up/solve technical issues.
• Collate information and prepare clear and structured technical reports on findings from site.
Candidate:
You must have a Degree in Construction - Built Environment - Civil or Structural Engineering
• A graduate or time served or grad with experience from an engineering discipline - ideally civil, structural, construction or Built Environment
• Passion for all things technical and manufacturing, technical, production.
• Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD and Manufacturing drawings would be a bonus but not essential
• Focused on Customer Service and great communication skills
• Good organisational skills
• Target driven & ambitious
• You must drive because the site is not public transport friendly
• Site based in South Derbyshire
- Mathematically very strong
