Where will I be working?

The Queen’s Head is a most remarkable country pub in terms of good food, wine, beer, welcome and character. The original styling of The Queens Head provides the perfect ambience for lunch or dinner, and is located in the idyllic country village of Glanwydden, just a 5 minute car journey to the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno and the A55.

The business employs a local workforce of 35 front of house and kitchen professionals, serving from the menu of delicious locally sourced produce.

What will the role of Sous Chef entail?

Supporting the Head Chef and working in conjunction with another Sous Chef, you will be planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen, working as part of a kitchen team of 7. Tasks will include;

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting quality home-made dishes using only the freshest ingredients
  • Ensuring your brigade has high culinary standards and providing training and guidance as necessary
  • Maintaining high standards of service
  • Monitoring and rotating stock, and ordering food
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Working with the Head Chef to create new recipes and write menus

What do I need to be considered for this Sous Chef role?

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, or as Chef de Partie with the ability and enthusiasm to progress
  • A flair with ingredients and first rate culinary skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • An ability to stay calm when the pressure mounts
  • Enthusiasm and positive attitude
  • Strong work ethic and reliable
  • Ability to use own initiative whilst working efficiently and effectively within a team

Due to the location and hours of work, a full UK driving licence and own transport is required.

What will I receive in return?

Salary: 25,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: Full time working 5 days out of 7 on a rota.
