Our Client administers the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS) and provides pensions to over 1.5 million people. They have in-depth knowledge and expertise in the administration of Defined Benefit pension schemes and provide tailored services to more than 300 Government employers. Also, through their Training and Employee Engagement Service, they offer training on a wide range of pension related topics and legislative change.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Accountant to join them where you will bring the scheme accounting function in house. This is a permanent full time position and the successful candidate will be based at our satellite offices in Crawley.

Within the role, you will be responsible for monthly financial reporting, including scheme cash forecasting and overpayments analysis. Ensuring accounts are produced to IFRS standards and are successfully audited by National Audit Office, you will provide assurance that operational controls are effective and will minimise incorrect payments from the scheme.

Developing good communication links with Government Employers, providing clear understanding of scheme funds to be reimbursed, you will optimise recovery of scheme funds whilst developing and implementing forecasting techniques to determine daily, monthly and long-term scheme cash requirements.

They are looking for someone who is a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), coupled with experience of producing pension scheme accounts. A knowledge of managing public money is desirable but not essential.

Due to the nature of the role, some travel and overnight stays will be required.
