Our client a successful business based in Leicestershire due to growth is looking to appoint an experienced VAT professional on a Full Time Permanent basis. This is a Field based role and travelling Nationwide is required.
The role:
Providing expert, high level telephone VAT advisory services to a client base of over 8,000 clients, in respect of all areas of taxation.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Responsible for the provision of telephone VAT advice.
- Responsible for the provision of e-mail VAT advice.
- In respect of both of the above, establishing the full facts, researching where appropriate and communicating a full answer, with reference to the appropriate legislation.
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge in respect of all areas of VAT, including keeping up to date with the appropriate VAT legislation and developments in VAT arena.
- Generating more in-depth VAT investigation and consultancy referrals.
- On occasion undertaking in-depth consultancy and investigation work.
- Identifying business development opportunities in order to grow the consultancy client base and provide additional consultancy services.
- Any other duties that are deemed appropriate from time to time in line with the Job Summary.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates will ideally possess all or some of the following attributes:
- Proven VAT experience either within private practice and/ or with HMRC.
- Good computer literacy.
- Professional Qualifications.
The successful candidate must have a good knowledge of Microsoft excel, strong numerical skills, the ability to prioritise and a pleasant telephone manner.
