What will I be doing? 

As a Purchasing Assistant, you’ll assist with the smooth running of the Purchasing Department, from quotation to delivery. 

In this diverse role, you’ll gain experience in all aspects of the procurement process. Liaising at all levels within the company, you’ll ensure that product availability meets sales demand. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Raise purchase, works and R&D orders for suppliers 
- Ensure that the correct authorisation procedures are followed 
- Make sure that orders are delivered on time and in full 
- Liaise with freight companies, the warehouse and other departments 
- Maintain stock levels 
- Carry out a range of admin tasks 

What do I need? 

Whilst no experience is required, to be considered, you will need: 

- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths 
- A positive and enthusiastic approach 
- The desire to learn and expand your skill-set 
- Excellent communication skills 
- A strong customer focus 

Ideally, you’ll also have purchasing experience, but this is by no means essential. 

Our client is interested in hearing from candidates who have worked as, or would like to become, a Purchasing Administrator, Procurement Assistant, Procurement Co-ordinator or Junior Buyer. 

Other companies may call this role Purchasing Co-ordinator, Supply Chain Administrator or Supply Chain Assistant.
