If you are proactive, well organised, with a problem-solving and meticulous approach, able to be the front of house and provide assistance in delivering a range of administrative functions from general office through to membership, grants and financial administration, and other tasks to support the operations and work programme of the organisation, then we would love to hear from you.
We are seeking to recruit a part time Administrative Officer (28 hours a week), reporting directly to the Partnerships and Support Services Manager at our office close to Canada Water, in Central London. The Tree Council is the UK’s lead charity for trees, promoting their importance in a changing environment. We work in partnership with our volunteer Tree Wardens, schools, communities, organisations and government to make trees matter to everyone. Our vision is one of more trees in streets, parks, hedgerows and woodland across the UK, bringing benefits to people and wildlife, enhancing landscapes and engaging people in biodiversity and environmental issues.
The key purpose of the post is to:
- Contribute to the effective operation of the organisation through the day-to-day provision of administrative support and related services, undertaking activities appropriate to the needs of the organization
- Provide assistance that reflects the priorities of the work programme
- Establish and implement new procedures as necessary to ensure an exemplary standard of support and services
- Support and add value to the work and effectiveness of the team and the promotion and delivery of The Tree Council’s objectives
The successful candidate will possess previous experience of a busy office environment, an excellent telephone manner and demonstrate experience of dealing with diverse groups of individuals. It is important that the Administrative Officer possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a meticulous approach to all areas of work, an ability to adapt during busy times and ensure consistency of service and good IT skills including all Microsoft Office applications.
