Health and Safety Supervisor

Blok 'N' Mesh UK Ltd, the UK's leading supplier of temporary fencing, have an opportunity available for a Health and Safety Supervisor to join the team based in Knowsley. The successful Health and Safety Supervisor will receive a competitive salary.

Blok 'N' Mesh UK Ltd are the leading supplier, manufacturer and installer of temporary fencing and hoarding products in the United Kingdom. We supply a complete range of steel hoarding, temporary fencing and demarcation / pedestrian barriers from our 15 national depots.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Supervisor

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager and working closely with the Assistant Director and Head Office Operations Manager, you will carry out administrative duties required of the Health and Safety department such as writing risk assessments and method statements.  You will also assist with/carry out site daily safety inspections and audits, health and safety training and the periodic testing of all portable electrical appliances.  You may be required to provide absence cover for the Health and Safety Manager and help with any other Head Office functions as required. 

Skills, knowledge and experience required by the Health and Safety Supervisor

Previous office and health and safety experience would be highly advantageous, as would knowledge of the construction and/or manufacturing industries.  However, the most important requirement of the role is an interest in progressing down a health and safety route.  An excellent telephone manner, strong interpersonal and organisational skills, and computer literacy are all essential, as is the need for a full Driving License due to the occasional requirement to travel to sites. 

Basic hours of work are 8am to 5pm on Monday to Friday.  However, some working flexibility is required to ensure the efficient running of the department.
