Our client is a UK leading manufacturer and part of a Global Fortune 500 company with offices across the country. We are currently looking for an Indirect Buyer to join their friendly and welcoming team in the
Gloucestershire area.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement , you will be responsible for the identification of sourcing opportunities within a multimillion pound indirect spend across all sites in order to deliver cost reduction.
Responsibilities
• Collaborating with the Head of Procurement to establish strategies for indirect purchasing categories.
• Assist with the introduction of best practice procurement tools and processes.
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction across a wide range of indirect expenditure.
• Sourcing new suppliers where required, who can deliver sustainable cost reduction and improved service levels.
• Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with suppliers
• Working across all departments to ensure that all opportunities and plans are delivered on target and on time.
• Product cost analysis and cost management.
Skills/Knowledge
• Relevant experience in purchasing indirect expenditure within a manufacturing environment (preferred)
• CIPS qualified.
• Proven record of contract negotiation and delivering cost reduction.
• A good understanding of commercial and legal aspects of supply contracts
• Team player with ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
• Experience of compiling and coordinating complex RFI / RFQ's is essential
• Working knowledge of ERP procurement Systems and Microsoft office.
• Ability to travel to other Group sites and suppliers
