Job overview:

The role of Senior Communication Strategy Director is to partner the Chief Strategic Officers and Executive Creative Directors in developing the Agency’s Communication Strategy discipline and to be the trusted strategic advisor on projects to the Agency’s clients.

We are looking for a highly influential strategic thinker who makes a material impact to their client’s business and the other strategists they work with. They are natural connectors, with a flair for working in cross-functional teams, and are as comfortable sitting with a creative team talking about ideas as they are sitting with a client talking business. They have a proven track record of structuring the delivery of ideas across channels and will help us make our work more interesting.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To be a trusted strategic advisor to clients, with a strong commercial understanding of their businesses and brands
  • To be innovative and invent new ways of looking at a problem
  • To structure brand strategies to deliver ideas through a range of communication channels
  • To ensure effectiveness runs through the DNA of the account
  • To partner the Chief Strategic Officers on pitches
  • To be instrumental in helping teams structure their thinking and deliver complex communication solutions
  • To carry out qualitative and quantitative research and consumer journey mapping to identify motivations, needs and barriers that marketing should address
  • To navigate and mediate potential tension between the creative and commercial agendas
  • To drive the Agency resource to deliver against the evolving creative environment
  • To educate others and help to develop the communication channel strategy skills of those they work with in the team
  • To bring new ideas to the department in meetings
  • To manage and mentor junior members of the team
  • To be a driving force in collaboration between multiple disciplines within the Agency and both communicate and contribute to the Agency’s strategic direction
  • Consumer research, media and ad tech thinking, content distribution strategy, campaign measurement and effectiveness planning data analysis and brand strategy.

Skills & Experience:

  • A graduate with at least 3 years of relevant agency experience developing communication strategies
  • Experience working on technology brands
  • Proven ability to lead the development of communication strategy and providing inspiration behind the creative process
  • Proven track record of structuring the delivery of innovative ideas across channels
  • The ability to interpret high level briefs from the clients, and experience of partnering on new business pitches is essential
  • Experience in consumer journey mapping
  • A proven track record in client management is essential
  • Qualitative and quantitative research expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach and creative insight
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior members of a team
