Our client is a leading producer of personnel security solutions and technical security software. They are now seeking a Product Development Director to join their team.

As a Product Development Director, you will take ownership of the access control reader portfolio of products, solutions and services at all stages of the product lifecycle. 

Your objective will be to maximise sales revenue, market share and profit margins within an inter-disciplinary role which bridges development, operations and commercial elements. 

Working with business unit leaders, you will identify segments and interface with the development function regarding the execution of product plans to support business objectives. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, own and report on the profit and loss for each product line and define the KPI dashboard, setting out measures and goals and reporting on progress. 

Additionally, your role will involve: 

- Implementing an integrated Agile process with R&D and product marketing 
- Taking responsibility for defining the overall user experience for products and solutions 
- Working closely with Engineering to architect and deliver products that are scalable, easy to implement and adopt 
- Balancing business needs with technology capabilities and recommending alternative approaches that meet design requirements 
- Collaborating with customers, industry influencers and the Sales function to understand opportunities, prioritise requirements and progress functional and technical designs

- At least seven years’ experience in a security product management role to include physical access experience 
- Formal product development process experience 
- A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science 
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
- Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows 
- A driving licence 

Highly communicative and proactive, as a Product Development Director, you will also need an analytical approach, the ability to influence others and strong teamwork and relationship building capabilities.
