Our Programme

Vauxhall Apprenticeship Programme is an excellent opportunity for you to learn, earn and work towards your degree, all at the same time. Working for an award winning Britain’s Top Employer, you will be working towards a full honours degree whilst developing your career.

Our IT degree apprenticeship programme has a flexible 3 to 5 year duration. It is delivered through a mix of day release, block release, work based learning, and independent self-study. The course provides you with an integrated blend of academic rigour and practical experience. You will be supported by a personal tutor at the University and an employer mentor in your workplace.

What to Expect

As our valued apprentice, you will be expected to own your tasks within the lifecycle of an IT Project, ensuring quality input into the next stage of the process. These could be activities such as requirements gathering & documentation, through to testing and working with the customer base to deploy these across Europe. A good knowledge of standard IT products is expected as is the ability to effectively communicate with users of varying technical ability. This role will gain exposure to a number of areas of the business which will vary as you rotate each year, including Vauxhall Headquarters and European Customer Care Centre. You will be based at our corporate headquarters in Griffin House, Bedfordshire.

What we are looking for

To be considered for this IT Degree apprenticeship programme, you should have the following:

• GCSE English language and Mathematics at Grade C or above or equivalent qualifications
• 104 UCAS points (e.g. 2 GCE A Levels OR 1 BTEC Diploma) in any subject or equivalent Based and eligible to work in UK
• Has strong interest in IT, ideally in software development
• Ability to travel within Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire areas. You might be required to travel within the area to attend training courses & events so flexibility is required
• For candidates who not have enough points buthave relevant experience or other qualifications, you will be assessed individually for eligibility
