SCOPE OF ROLE:

Are you interested in the retail fashion industry and have experience in Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Print design and CAD background? Our client is looking for a creative, passionate forward thinking individual to join the Buying team as a Print Designer. This is a new role which you can help build and shape so an ideal opportunity for someone in their first job, recently graduated from a design course or a more experienced print designer. Your key responsibilities with be researching and collating seasonal trend, producing garment print graphics, briefing our supply base and working alongside the buying team to create exclusive prints which will be sold in 100+ UK & International Stores.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for designing in house print artwork, creating both placement and all over print designs
  • Creating print design in repeat, scale and with Pantone colour references
  • Amending purchased or supply base prints to fit into trends and colour palettes
  • Ability to working to a design brief given by the buying team
  • Communicates approved artwork digitally to our supply base
  • Confident in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and ability to hand draw/paint
  • Analysis of 3 rd party trend information e.g. WGSN and creation of seasonal trend & colour palette boards
  • Work at a fast paced retail rate
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure effective communication
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in print design
  • Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities for improvement
  • Managing workload and prioritising projects
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Contribute ideas and designs for promoting the Brand

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience of Print & graphic design essential
  • High ability of Illustrator, Abode Photoshop and the ability to hand draw/paint also
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team
  • Commercial outlook & awareness of competitors in the market
  • Knowledge and understanding of High Street fashion will be a benefit
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines & balance several projects at a time
  • Good English & communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Understanding of relevant print design programmes
  • To be flexible with hours & job role.
