Electrical Maintenance Technician
Chorley
Salary circ. £26k plus shift allowance + benefits
37 hours per week – shift pattern 6am-2pm/2pm-10am
Our client currently has a vacancy for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to be based at their manufacturing facility in Chorley, Lancashire.
QUALIFICATIONS
Electrical engineering apprenticeship, 17th wiring regulations edition preferred
EXPERIENCE
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of electrical control circuits including motors, inverters, switchgear and Plc inputs/outputs and experience of reading and understanding circuit diagrams
Ability to work in a multi-skilled environment, working knowledge of and experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics
THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the Electrical Maintenance Technician position is to maintain plant and equipment minimizing production downtime. The role involves covering all aspects of electrical maintenance and repair work to achieve optimum efficiency and safety of the plant, equipment and services. Your roles and responsibilities will include:
• Installation of new plant
• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives
• Liaise with suppliers for procurement of spare parts and consumables
• Utilities maintenance
• Work at heights using the cherry picker
• Maintaining a good standard of housekeeping within the engineering department
THE PERSON
Ideally you will also demonstrate the following attributes:
• Working knowledge of an automated production processes.
• Computer literate – good understanding of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with, colleagues and line management.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Results driven.
• Good time management skills – must have a methodical approach to planning and delivering tasks.
• Able to work to deadlines.
