Store Development Manager
Location: Field based - Yorkshire / Lancashire / Northern Ireland
Salary: £25k+ per annum + car + benefits
Reports to: Format Operations Manager

Job Purpose
To work with members and prospects to advise on store layouts and store conversions, to produce clear conversion plans and work with various contractors to ensure that conversions are project managed effectively and planned and executed within agreed cost and time frames. To produce information required to enable the correct product range to be produced, ordered and implemented. All conversions to fully conform to the company guidelines and specifications.
Specific Areas of Work:
Key Results Area:
* Following up leads from the RDM team of potential stores for conversion to the Symbol and the Independent fascia group. Assessing the suitability of these leads to allow the successful development into the Symbol and the Independent fascia group.
* Planning member store refits using AutoCAD to the company's detailed store format and specification guidelines.
* Working with approved shop fitters to achieve a competitive conversion cost within the company specification guidelines.

* Working with the approved signage contractor to design the internal and external signage scheme and to achieve a competitive conversion cost within the specification guidelines.
* Discussing and agreeing with members the development scope of works and conversion costs.
* Completing conversions with in the agreed time frames and set budgetary controls.
* Ensuring the ongoing maintenance of the overall standards of the Symbol and Independent stores.
* To develop and project manage store conversions into the Symbol or Independent group.
* Effectively planned stores, delivering within an agreed time frame, converted in a cost effective manner.
* Ensure that members are satisfied with the conversion so that they will recommend other retailers to the scheme.
* Completion of all documentation within the given timescales.
* Development and maintenance of successful business relationships with existing and new members.
* Understanding and knowledge of individual retailers' specific requirements.
* Provide regular face to face contact with retailers during developments to provide advice, guidance and support on maximizing the benefits available to members.
* To achieve and maintain professional standards across all aspects of the role in respect of work undertaken, to liaise and work with staff at all levels of the business in a manner appropriate to yours and their needs.
Job Skills and Competencies
Experience:
* Field sales experience - individual and multi-site members/prospects.
* Retail / Wholesale background, ideally from the Food/Convenience store sector, ideally from the Food/Convenience store sector.
* Previous experience within a similar role.
* Good understanding of trading regulations, trading terms and disciplines.
* Proven development and project management skills.
* The ability to take the lead when dealing with contractors and suppliers.
Skills:
* Strong numeracy and literacy.
* Fully competent on CAD to measure, draw and amend store layout plans
* IT literate - competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
* Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
* Confident ability to work with and analyse figures / custom flows / demographics
