Cook / Kitchen Assistant

This is an opportunity to join a Dundee based butchers business, with 70+ employees, that has diversified into a number of different markets and a position has become available in their busy production kitchen preparing a wide range of products from pies to ready meals. Applicants should have experience in food handling and producing food on a commercial basis, ideally within a similar environment, and - hold as a minimum - Cook safe or similar qualification.

Duties will include, but not be limited to - cooking, packing, labelling and cleaning. Full training will be provided. This position is based on a 40 hour week (Monday to Friday) but will also involve Weekend work as part of their Events Catering team, as required, but mainly through the months of May to September.

The Events cover a variety of occasions at which they provide a BBQ service or an alternative offering of a buffet style service of hot food. These events can range in size from 50 "guests" to 500. This work will involve setting up and dismantling of the cooking and service equipment, cooking and cleaning, and is a customer facing environment that requires excellent communication and customer care skills. Full training will be provided.
