Multi Trade Handyperson / Maintenance Operative

Job Title: Multi Trade Handyperson

Location: Dulwich, South East London

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (half hour unpaid lunch break and two paid 15 minute tea breaks).

The company is a boarding and day independent school for boys in Dulwich in southeast London. They are now looking for a Multitrade Handyperson to join their on-site maintenance team.

You will improve/maintain and undertake all aspects of general maintenance including painting and decorating, carpentry, tiling, routine plumbing work and roofing support throughout the College's properties to the highest possible standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• To carry out required painting and decorating tasks to a professional standard.
• To undertake day to day routine maintenance and repair tasks, to include- but not limited to minor plumbing jobs, routine M&E tasks, tiling to a professional standard.
• Involvement in project work, minor refurbishment and alteration works.
• To provide roofing support to any works carried out at high level/roofs.
• To carry out lock replacements/repairs as required to a high standard.
• To assist other members of the Maintenance Department with their duties as directed by the Head of Maintenance/Assistant Manager: Maintenance/Team Leader.

The Candidate:

• Previous experience of response maintenance and general maintenance are essential.
• Working at Height training.
• 2 years' multi skilled work experience within the building industry

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Experience of working within domestic and industrial properties.
• Full current UK driving licence.

Personal Qualities:

• Reliable, punctual, co-operative and enthusiastic
• Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision but also able to work well as part of a team.
• Flexible as the work entails working in different teams as required.
• Willingness to work out of hours to complete tasks when necessary
