As HR Manager you will be the gatekeeper providing service leadership to all HR related functions, ensuring high-quality services (direct or indirect communications) are delivered effectively, efficiently and consistently and promoting the right message to maintain good employee branding.

Summary:

• Support the senior management in providing timely HR advice and guidance, proactively managing HR issues
• Lead, manage and develop the HR team, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities are understood, yet retaining flexibility to meet all business support needs
• Lead and support the recruitment of prospective employees and managers for the business sites
• Deliver all HR KPI reports, providing analysis and interpretation, complying with all deadlines
• Collation of HR reporting for all sites as requested by senior executives and any such ad hoc reports
• Management of the HR systems for all sites, planning for new developments from the early stages
• Oversee and ensure maintenance and administration of the HR System, inputting, updating and reconciling data as required to ensure that information held within the system is current and accurate to aid decision-making
• Oversee and manage the Occupational Health provision to ensure effective case referrals are made in a timely manner and advise the business accordingly
• In conjunction with the HR Administrator, provide comprehensive administrative support for all HR activities within the Business Unit

Performance:

• Management of the Performance Management process and analysis for all sites
• Proactively develop the HR function Group-wide, ensuring consistency with practices and reviews across all of the sites
• Provide Learning and Development administrative functions; including reporting of compliance of mandatory training at induction with support from the Food Quality Controller
• Work with Operations/Departmental managers to create and deliver a strategy to resource and develop their workforce, covering organisational change, service improvements and targeted training & development
• Implement and further develop HR training for line managers

Development:

• Support Operations/Departmental managers with management of the final stages of Employee Relations cases
• Work closely with HR colleagues to share learning from people management cases within the site, promoting support, consistency and continual learning
• Attend HR meetings across sites to share best practice and key learning
• Support and guide Leaders on policy, Procedure and Employment Relations Legislation, including advising on grievance and disciplinary issues
• Facilitate the implementation of people development interventions e.g. Induction, Management training and work with the senior management to identify enhancement opportunities
• Engage effectively with employees and Leadership teams to ensure full delivery of HR service and support, building capability and strengthening the culture

Recruitment:

• Support end-to-end recruitment and selection processes in all units
• Oversee and undertake selection activities to ensure that candidates are selected fairly, objectively and in accordance with Company/external best practice
• Collate, analyse and report relevant and identified management information and headcount for monthly submission to identify trends, and leaver information, allowing continuous improvement in decision-making

Costs:

• Manage overall budgets for recruitment and selection, reporting accordingly
• Oversee the monthly payroll process ensuring accurate and timely information for Payroll
• Monitor and manage attendance issues, identifying intervention and advising Leaders in order to maximise attendance. Oversee monthly absence information and the monitoring of sick pay entitlement to Payroll
• Be involved with new business forecast payroll needs

People:

• Provide necessary leadership, planning and communication skills to ensure the timely delivery of set goals.

• Appraise HR staff annually providing a succession plan, performance managing staff as required

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• CIPD qualified, or equivalent professional HR qualification
• Strong experience of recruitment and selection
• Proven experience as a HR professional with extensive generalist experience in all areas of HR is essential
• Strong knowledge and experience of employee relations is essential, as is experience of developing and adapting HR policies and procedures
• Experience of training and coaching employees through to success
• A strong understanding of Employment Law and legislation
• Experience of working with Senior Managers, with the ability to challenge individuals and building relationship at every level, as required
• Designing and delivering successful recognition and reward initiatives, which drive staff engagement
• Comfortable working flexibly in an entrepreneurial, ever-changing organisation
• Be able to work autonomously and proactively, enjoying driving change and innovation
• Able to balance best practice, legal obligations and commercial needs when decision-making and advising
