The organisation is a qualifying body, thought leader and learned society that works with government and numerous partners to promote innovation and excellence in the development of infrastructure, education and skills. In 2018 they will celebrate its bicentennial and a range of high profile activities are planned. Their Patrons include the Duke of York and HRH the Princess Royal. This is an exciting growth phase for the organisation as they pilot new projects and an international strategy.

The role
As the Development Fundraiser, reporting to the Head of Development, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate and trust funders and raising income for a portfolio of flagship projects. This newly created position is an opportunity for an innovative and target driven individual to contribute to the successful delivery of their bicentennial activities. These will focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and will include a five day International Congress and a mobile bus providing STEM education for disadvantaged schools. This is the second fundraising position in the charity and there are immense opportunities for the right candidate to develop their career and skills.

Key responsibilities
- Account management and main contact for all current and future corporate and trust funders
- Research potential funders/sponsors, including corporates, trusts and individuals and develop profiles for a nurturing and engagement programme
- Partner with teams and members across the Group to develop business cases for support and ongoing funding proposals
- Make approaches for sponsorship and funding where relevant
- Produce marketing communications, web articles and briefs for their press releases/media articles
- Coordinate and minute meetings with key stakeholders and manage donor lists and team admin

What are they looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A track record of donor/customer/member retention and incremental donations and sales
- At least 2 years corporate account management, sponsorship or fundraising from corporates and trusts in the not-for-profit sector
- Prospect research either corporate, trusts or individuals
- Good communication, organisation, IT and administrative skills
- Excellent customer service, with the ability to work with a range of people at all levels
