The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service is looking for an experienced minute taker. You will join the team to provide high quality and efficient minute taking and administrative support. Your duties will include, organising meetings, preparing and circulating relevant papers for the meetings for Child Protection Conferences.

The service is responsible for safeguarding children, young people and their families and recommending cohesive plans to support them so the ability to interpret complex processes and deal with sensitive information is essential.

You will have:

• experience of minute taking in high level conferences/meetings;

• excellent administrative, organisational, time management skills and the ability to work independently;

• a meticulous eye for detail;

• the ability to interpret complex discussions and précis them in an accessible form;

• advanced working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet);

• experience of using a client database would be desirable but training will be given;

• ability to work as part of a team and with minimum supervision;

• experience in working within a busy and fast paced environment whilst remaining calm and professional;

• an understanding of the requirement for confidentiality is essential as is good customer care skills and a confident telephone manner;

• high level of communication skills (both written and verbal) in order to effectively interact with colleagues, professionals, families and external agencies.

The role will be busy and varied; therefore a flexible and proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is essential.

You must be willing to undertake relevant training to support you within the role and to work flexibly to meet the ever changing needs of the service.

The post is based at The Gatehouse on Kedleston Road.
