Personal Assistant to the Deputy Director (Chief Prosecutor) Legal Services

Salary: GBP22,211 p.a.

This is a full time post (37 hours per week) based at Kingfisher House, Peterborough.

The Role

This is a varied and interesting role for which you will provide a comprehensive administrative/PA service to the Deputy Director (Chief Prosecutor) Legal Services in order to ensure smooth, integrated and efficient administrative operations and support for the effective delivery of Legal Services' business objectives.

Providing a helpful and customer focused front of house service and acting as ambassador for the Deputy Director (Chief Prosecutor), you will maintain good working relationships with internal and external colleagues to facilitate efficient, good quality outcomes.

You will also provide a litigation and administrative support service to other lawyers based in the Enforcement & Prosecution team as required. This is a dispersed team and accordingly this position will involve frequent phone and email contact with team members working in other Environment Agency offices and an element of chasing, structuring and organising meetings. The post may involve some travel from time to time.

The person appointed to this position must be able to work independently when the Deputy Director is away from the office or when travelling overseas.

You will be:

Proficient at typing, minute taking, word processing, document presentation and diary management
Highly organised with ability to understand and work within the Environment Agency's information storage and retrieval systems and establish systems and approaches that actively help to facilitate the efficiency of Enforcement & Prosecution team.
Able to proactively establish good working relationships with internal colleagues and internal and external customers.
Able to anticipate the needs of the Deputy Director and take action draft responses to standard queries and to chase up team members for contributions/responses.
Experienced in dealing with confidentiality and sensitive materials and handling and organising large amounts of documentation.
Capable of organising overseas trips for Deputy Director in her role as ENPE President and working with ENPE Board members. (ENPE: European Network of Prosecutors for the Environment).

You will have:

Either a secretarial qualification (for example, Higher Diploma in administrative and secretarial procedures/RSA) or some experience as defined above.
O level/GCSE standard of education including English, plus relevant experience as a PA or similar.
