Purpose:

The Project Coordination team are an integral part of McLaren Automotive, and contribute directly to the success of every vehicle launch. The team have a number of challenges that they face to ensure they are supporting the business to deliver successful vehicle launches, this role will become more challenging as time goes on as we embark on our Track22 business plan; this is our ambition to produce 15 new vehicles and derivatives of, until the year 2022.

As a Senior Vehicle Validation Coordinator, reporting is a key part of the position, providing regular updates on project status and visibility on maintenance/development of the McLaren car history database (Virtual Car). You will support the project teams to define and maintain the Programme Development plans, based on Design Verification Plan (DVP) content and in line with the Project High level plan and Gateways.

This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple vehicle projects and interface with various function groups, ensuring there is a consistent approach, methodology, tools and lesson learned implementation. You will have ownership and responsibility for developing the roadmap for the validation tool and will also lead a small team.

This is truly a fast paced and demanding environment as the team work to short project cycles to facilitate Track22, and interface with a number of teams, there will be plenty of work to do along with a number of obstacles on the way.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Educated to Degree level in suitable Engineering discipline
Knowledge of Program Management tools and methodologies
Previous experience in development plan experience, ideally within an engineering environment
Advanced level of MS Excel - pivot tables and macros
Good understanding of SQL
Familiar with automotive processes such as DVP and DMFEA would be an advantage
Previous line management experience
Data analysis skills and ability to summarize findings and drive conclusions
Strong team player
Must be self-motivated and driven
